What does Bodman Financial & Consulting Services do?
We're a Nigerian corporate finance specialist with worldwide reach. Our core work covers accounting services (bookkeeping, financial statements and monthly reporting), tax planning and compliance, financial and investment advisory, and practical accounting training.
Who leads the company?
Mr Oshunlana Olubodun (AAT, HND, FCA, FCTI) is our Group Chairman, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria with almost 31 years of experience across accounting, taxation, auditing, micro-finance banking and insurance.
What companies make up the Bodman group?
Three specialist companies: Oshunlana Olubodun & Co. (our chartered accountancy and audit practice), Bodman Financial & Consulting Services Limited (corporate finance advisory), and Bodman School of Practical Accountancy Training Limited (our training arm).
How long have you been in business?
Since 2010. We started as a small accounting practice in Lagos and have grown into a group of three specialist companies over 15 years in practice.
Is Bodman a licensed, chartered firm?
Yes. Our chairman is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and Oshunlana Olubodun & Co., our audit practice, is licensed to carry out statutory audits.
Where are you located, and what are your working hours?
Our office is at 334, Ikorodu Road, Idiroko Bus Stop,, Anthony, Lagos State, Nigeria. We're open Mon – Fri, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
Do you work with clients outside Lagos or outside Nigeria?
Yes. While our office is based in Lagos, we're a Nigerian corporate finance specialist with worldwide reach and we work with clients across the country and beyond. Much of our advisory and training work can also be done remotely.
Do you work with individuals, or only businesses?
Both. Our accounting, tax and advisory services are mainly for businesses, shareholders and management teams, while our training is open to individuals, whether you're a fresh graduate, a working accountant, or someone moving into consulting.
Is my financial information kept confidential?
Yes. Client confidentiality is standard practice for us, as it is for any chartered accounting and advisory firm. We only use your information to deliver the service you've asked for.
Accounting, tax & advisory
Can you handle our day-to-day bookkeeping and reporting?
Yes. Bookkeeping, financial statements and monthly reporting are core to our accounting service, done to the standard your bank, auditors and investors expect.
Can you place an accountant inside our own office?
Yes. If you'd rather have someone permanently on the ground, we can place one of our accountants inside your finance department full time as a resident accountant, and take full responsibility for that department's work on your behalf.
What tax services do you offer?
The full range: ongoing tax planning to help you make the most of legitimate reliefs, plus hands-on support preparing and filing returns correctly and on schedule.
Do you represent clients with tax authorities?
Yes. We represent clients on both tax advisory and tax compliance matters, so you're not dealing with the authorities alone.
We're weighing a major investment or capital expense. Can you help?
Yes, that's exactly what our financial advisory service is for. We lay out the risk and likely return in plain terms before you commit, so the decision is made with a clear picture, not a guess.
Is Oshunlana Olubodun & Co. licensed to carry out statutory audits?
Yes, it's our chartered accountancy practice within the group, licensed to carry out statutory audits and give your stakeholders confidence in your numbers.
Do you work with startups and small businesses, or only large corporates?
All of the above. Whether you're a startup, a nonprofit or an established enterprise, we tailor our services to fit your exact needs.
Do you work with nonprofits as well as for-profit businesses?
Yes. We tailor our accounting, tax and advisory services to startups, nonprofits and established enterprises alike.
How do I know which company in the Bodman group I need?
You don't have to work that out yourself. Reach out to us with what you need, whether it's an audit, general accounting and advisory work, or training, and we'll point you to the right company within the group.
Training
Who can attend?
Young chartered accountants not yet employed; accountants working under inexperienced accountants; matured accountants who've never practiced or aren't fully exposed to accounting, tax and audit functions; accountants who struggle to prepare accounts from start to finish; anyone planning to move into consulting; and anyone with an accounting background, or 3+ years in a finance department, who needs more hands on exposure.
Is instalment payment allowed?
Yes. 60% before the training commences, and the remaining 40% before mid month.
What is the duration and lecture hours?
Weekday classes run Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Weekend classes run Saturdays only, from 9am.
Will I get a certificate after the training?
Yes. You'll be issued a certificate on completion of your training.
Do you offer job placement after the training?
Where we don't have a vacancy within our own organisations, we work with HR consultants who provide recruitment services. Our alumni, a status you hold from your first day of training, get priority access to this job information.
Do you offer a discount on training fees?
Yes, for anyone who registers early ahead of any advertised batch.
I can't attend physically. Can I still enrol?
Yes. We run every training simultaneously on Zoom for anyone who can't attend in person, alongside the physical class.
Why choose Bodman School of Practical Accountancy Training?
We teach practical skills and rehearse interview sessions with participants, help you bridge gaps in your work experience, connect you with employers, and issue certificates of attendance, all built to make you genuinely employable.
Is Bodman School an ICAN tuition house?
Not yet, but we hope to start ICAN tuition classes in time.
Can my company register a group of staff for training?
Yes. If you're looking to upskill your team, get in touch with us and we'll arrange group registration for your organisation.

Do you offer remote or virtual engagements?
Yes. Much of our accounting, tax and advisory work can be handled remotely, and our training runs on Zoom alongside every physical class.
How much do your services cost?
It depends on the scope of work, so we don't quote a flat fee upfront. Tell us what you need and we'll come back with pricing that fits. Our training fee is a fixed amount and is listed on the Training page.
